Andrew Kotyuk to Replace Chad Mayes: Scores Major Endorsements
Local Elected Republican Leaders Endorse Kotyuk
(San Jacinto, Calif.) – Nine elected Republican officials from eight different cities have announced their support in the 42nd Assembly District for San Jacinto Council Member Andrew Kotyuk for State Assembly over the incumbent, Chad Mayes. Mayes, who was removed as Republican Leader and censured by the Riverside and San Bernardino Republican Central Committees, joined Governor Jerry Brown and Assembly Democrats in passing a very unpopular “Cap & Trade” law.
“The best thing for this community is to get this man to Sacramento,” said Crystal Ruiz, the new Mayor for San Jacinto.
Matt Liesemeyer, Mayor Pro Tem of Menifee, said, “I believe Andrew’s leadership can go a long way to help restore what’s missing in Sacramento.”
“Local elected leaders understand better than anyone the challenges our communities face in providing the services taxpayers expect of us while being forced to take on more and more of the responsibilities of the State,” said Kotyuk. “We are being asked to do more, from housing criminals in local jails, to maintaining our roads and infrastructure, to taking care of a growing homeless population.”
Continued Kotyuk, “Meanwhile, the State spends its time picking fights with the Trump Administration, establishing illegal immigrant “sanctuaries,” spending billions on liberal vanity projects like the “Bullet Train to Nowhere,” raising taxes to the highest in the nation, and embracing job-killing “Cap & Trade” policies. It’s time to focus on doing the job elected to do rather than spend more and more of taxpayers’ money on progressive fantasies.”
“We elected Chad Mayes to be our voice in Sacramento but instead, he’s become Jerry Brown and Assembly Democrats go-to Republican while betraying the people who elected him. It’s time to repeal and replace Chad Mayes,” said Kotyuk.
Andrew Kotyuk is a conservative reformer running for State Assembly. He is a successful small businessman and U.S. Navy veteran elected to the San Jacinto City Council in 2010. As a councilmember, he’s helped steer the city back to firm financial footing after indictments and scandal caused economic and political chaos which resulted in a $4 million budget deficit. He’s been a leader on regional transportation issues and a trusted conservative opposing new taxes and cutting government spending. Kotyuk was born and raised in the 42nd District, graduated from Cal State San Bernardino, and is CIMA certified by the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Andrew lives in San Jacinto with his wife, Amanda, and their three children.
