Carter Supports Trump, and Why That's Great for Cruz

So, former President Jimmy Carter went out of his way to explain to the British House of Lords nwhy he supports Donald Trump for President.

NewsMax reports:

Former Democratic president Jimmy Carter said Wednesday that he would choose Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination over Ted Cruz.

"I think I would choose Trump, which may surprise some of you," Carter, 91, who was in the White House from 1977 to 1981, said in taking questions after speaking to the British House of Lords in London.

Yes. Donald Trump faced a national ban a few weeks ago, when the left-wing members of Parliament were actually debating such a thing. Whatever happened to freedom of speech?

Carter's remarks, in response to a question about American politics, brought laughter from the audience, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Laughter. The British elites love to mock conservatives. Little did Carter realize, they were also mocking him. They were not laughing with Carter in any way at all.

"The reason is, Trump has proven already he’s completely malleable," the former president explained. "I don’t think he has any fixed positions that he’d go the White House and fight for.:

Ouch! He is just another liberal, like Jimmy Carter, who never fought for anything, but saw his life and power handed to him on a silver platter.

"On the other hand, Ted Cruz is not malleable," he added. "He has far-right wing policies he'd pursue if he became president."

Actually, his policies on limiting the size of the state and ending the corporate cronyism to Wall Street line up with many Americans' frustrations with Washington. He has relentlessly attacked Obamacare, and he can stand up to the liberal media without flinching or backing down an inch.

Let's be honest. The reason why Carter does not like Cruz is that he has courage, while Carter has demonstrated cowardly, even dishonest traits time and again.

Regarding the Democratic contest, Carter referenced Bernie Sanders' strong showing Monday in the Iowa caucuses.

Carter also recognized that the real winner in Iowa was Bernie Sanders, not Hillary Clinton. She is an Establishment hack who turns off a large number of voters. She is inauthentic and untrustworthy.

"Bernie Sanders has had a remarkable showing, particularly among young people," he said. "In Iowa, he had 85 percent of young people’s support.

"I don’t know what the final result will be," Carter added, but "my own personal opinion is that it's very likely Hillary Clinton will still prevail in the Democratic Party.

"Of course, I’m a Democrat and I will support the nominee."

And as a Democrat, he would support Donald Trump, who faces a staggering loss to Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders in the general election.

Carter was in London to speak about the Carter Center's efforts to eliminate Guinea worm disease worldwide, the Journal-Constitution reports.

He should have worked on removing the contagion of liberalism and democratic socialism from the public government conscience.

Jimmy Carter is another ringing endorsement for Ted Cruz.

In fact, the Texas US Senator used these comments in one of his campaign ads!
