Chik-fil-A President Must Revisit the Gospel in its Fullest

"I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage, -- Dan Cathy, President and CEO of Chik-fil-A

Many people have a mistaken understanding of the power of the blood of Jesus Christ.

By His death on the Cross, Jesus died for all the sins of the world. Not one sin that we have committed -- past, present, future -- escaped the wrath of God. In fact, all of our sins were in the future, and Jesus' death satisfies God's wrath for all sin.

John the Baptist declares that Jesus is the "Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world" (John 1: 29)

John made that statement in the present tense, because even as Jesus was passing John the Baptist, He was taking away the sins of the World.

John the Apostle declares fully the extent of God's grace:

"And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world." 91 John 2: 2)

Jesus IS now the propitiation for all our sins -- all of them, and His blood keeps on cleansing us from sin:

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." (1 John 1: 7)

God's grace has been, and continues to be, extended to the whole world:

"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men." (Titus 2 11)

Paul did not define or limit the types of men -- for the grace of God has appeared to all men.

Joel also prophesied, and Peter confirmed, that God has poured out His Spirit on all flesh (Joel 2: 28; Acts 2: 17)

All that man has to do is receive the grace of God by faith (Ephesians 2: 4-8)--

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10: 9)

In fact, the only sin that will send people to hell is not believe on Jesus for their salvation:

"And when he [The Holy Spirit]  is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

"Of sin, because they believe not on me;" (John 16: 8-9)

God is no longer getting angry about individuals who engage in homosexual conduct -- that sin has been punished at the Cross. Man has a deeper problem, one which leads up to act out terrible behaviors, to sin --

Man is dead in his trespasses -- the inheritance which man has received from his first parent, Adam:

"Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come." (Romans 5: 14)

Jesus came to die for all our sin and to give us His life:

"For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ." (Romans 5: 17)

Man sins because he is a sinner, spiritually dead. God sent His Son to wipe away our sin and to give us His life.

When man receives the life of Christ in him, there is no longer any desire to sin, but a desire to rest in the grace and truth of God's love:

"1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

"God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? " (Romans 6: 1-2)

Like many believers in the Body of Christ, Mr. Cathy has not received the full message of what Jesus has done for us at the Cross!

If a person engages in homosexual conduct, he or she is harming his body, and sin by its nature produces death:

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6: 23)

For many people, they are looking for life, or they think that they are in bondage to certain behaviors even after they get saved, and they try in their own efforts to break free. God's plan is that every person will rest in God's grace by faith, receive the truth of who they are in Christ, and then they are set free!

Instead of railing against particular sins, let us glory in Christ and Him Crucified, for in Hims is the all the knowledge and the power that man needs not just to no longer sin, but to reign in life through His life!
