Gingrich Surges -- Great Wit, not Presidential Material

Columnist Thomas Sowell has stated the respectable obvious:

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich would shred President Obama in the 2012 general election debates.

I heartily agree with his calumny against "Occupy Everywhere:

"Get a bath, get a job."

I would add "get out of the way, and get lost."

Still, whether voters would elect this "man" is another story.

Twice-divorced, having dated the replacement wife while serving divorce papers on the previous wife, Gingrich has twice betrayed solemn vows to honor and cherish his spouse.

He lobbied for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, two of the prime instigators of the Housing Crisis that produced the Great Recession.

He has shot down conservative principles as "right wing social engineering".

Gingrich may be a good speaker, but he was a failed house leader, serial philanderer, and a Washington insider whom American constituents have grown tired of putting up with.

Gingrich is not the man to take down Barack Obama in November, 2012.
