Response to El Camino Editorial

Federal aid should not be available to non-citizens.

They do not pay state and federal taxes, they do not subsidize post-secondary (or even primary and secondary) education -- therefore, they are not entitled to receiving in-state tuition.

This act will not only further impoverish the state of California, it will limit the number of seats in college for legal residents and naturalized citizens. They played by the rules, they entered the United States legally, paying the requisite fees and passing the necessary tests to become citizens of the United States.

It is a slap in the face to the American people, both born and naturalized, to witness Governor Brown placating a loud minority -- illegal immigrants who contribute very little to the financial and political well-being of this country, regardless of their nation of origin.
